A Word from the Pastor

Let me personally invite you to join us for fellowship, worship, and Bible study at Smyrna Baptist Church. It's our greatest desire to bless your family. The people of Smyrna Baptist Church love to welcome guests

to our church. You will be greeted warmly, and hopefully, will feel right at home.

Greeters will assist you in finding Sunday School classes or seating. We are blessed to have new and accessible facilities for your whole family. We have plenty of seating for our services, including handicap-accessible seating.

Stay around after the service, so we can visit with you in our large foyer, or greet a new friend on our extended covered porch at the front of the sanctuary. You'll find plenty of friends here who enjoy meeting new families.

Bro. Jason Hartig

 

Jason Hartig has served as pastor of Smyrna Baptist Church since July, 2006. He is from Paducah, Kentucky. He received his bachelor's degree from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, where he met his wife, Sharon. Jason and Sharon have five children.

Jason receveived his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He has served churches in Tennessee, Louisiana, Texas, Kentucky and Indiana before coming to Humboldt.

Eddie Long has served as Minister of Music at Smyrna Baptist Church since 1996. He is from Humboldt, Tennessee, where he lives with his wife, Vicki. They have two children and one grandson. Eddie has spent nearly forty years in music ministry, first singing at age seven with a family group. Later,  Eddie and his brothers sang together as "The Long Brothers" for twenty years. In 1996, Eddie also joined "The Father's Four" as tenor. "The Father's Four" continues to minister and has recently begun a new studio project.

Eddie's passion for the Lord encourages lively worship in every service.
